Catching up
Hey everyone,
Its been since April. Though I really don't think anyone reads this. We have begun working on sound and color. Barry has just begun working on the score. We should have our final cut done in less than two months. Katie Dreke is beginning to put together a press packet so we can get Colors out there.
Patrick, Jon, Chris, Cam, Katie and Caleb got together the other night and had some Lasuana and beer. We talked about what we can do to get Lines and Blood's name out there, and get Colors into some bigger festivals. We will be planning the premiere soon. If you actually read this, then you will hear about it here.

ReelHeart International Film Festival, STIFF, NW Projections and Longwave - Satellites
Lines and Blood Films just finished a rough cut of the Longwave video for the song Satellites. It turned out really cool, and we are waiting for little changes from the band. We might do some more work on the paper airplanes stuff; the stuff turned out really cool, but I think we can get some more cool stuff.
As for Colors, we officially start preproduction on Sunday. We are meeting with our lead actors, setting a schedule, and doing some reading, and maybe some more casting.
LCRS is a quarter of the way done and we are reworking some of the plot issues, trying to wrap up the season in 5 nice episodes. So far it is looking great, and most importantly we are having fun, fun, fun.
And some festival news....Afraid to Merge is playing at NW Projection in Bellingham on April 18th at noon, Short Ends (the feature film version) has been accepted at Seattle True Independent Film Festival and will be premiere in June, and finally Afraid to Merge has been accepted as Official Selection at ReelHeART International Film Festival in Toronto, and will be playing June 22nd...and yes we are going out to Toronto. And on another big note, Patrick Dizney is playing in a theatrical adaptation of Chekhov's Three Sisters which was adapted by the person who won the pultizer for Drama...and it's the world premeire of the play. So give Diz a pat on the back next time you see him....

Upcoming projects and such....
Lines and Blood has been working slowly on figuring itself out, and deciding the schedule for the next year. We had a write up in the Stanger, which can be read on our website (Press) and the strangers, too. We also just had a write up in the Western Front, who left out the people that we talked about the whole interview: Cameron Currier, Joshua Young, Jon Bowden and Patrick Dizney. We are grateful for the article, but there are some mis-quotes, and false info...if you read it and find something a little off, please ask...We are, in fact, really focused on getting a scene going in Bellingham, and when it says "big lamps" the quote was actually "big lights." Also film is truth had mentioned that they would be interested in shelving local films, but never agreed to it, and have yet to do it because we have not asked. Anyway, besides those things it was a flattering article and we were happy to be in it.
As for what is on the horizon for LAB...The next projects that follow are in this order:

The Stranger Article and other news
The Stranger wrote an article about Lines and Blood, Alek and Caleb, but it was less about Lines and Blood and more about why Caleb and Alek live in Bellingham and what their goals are for Bham film scene. Its a nice article, so check it out.

In other news. Do You See Colors...has begun pre production. The script is done, we have casted our two main characters, which will be played by Sage Price (the twins) and Sean Frazier (Christian). Christians' part was actually written for Stefanie Warmouth (Nate and Natalie) and the character's name was Kate, but she is too busy to commit, and Joshua has been trying to convince Caleb to change the script for a year now, and finally he talked Caleb into it. Basically we feel that it is a more interesting idea to have a gay couple (engaged) and when one twin passes away, the other twin - who is not gay begins an affair with Christian, two years later, on a road trip to spread the ashes of his twin. Michael just wants to find and learn about a part of Jonathan that they never knew before, and Christian wants to pretend that Michael is Jonathan. So, we are excited and are going to start the rest of casting very soon.... we will keep you updated with any info.

Union Street
Hello all,
Jonathan Thompson, Chris Koser and Caleb Young all worked on a short film, Union Street, this weekend Friday and Saturday. Friday ended up being a bust. The car broke down, which put the day back a few hours, and by the time everything was set and ready to go, the light was escaping quickly, and since the street was not shut down on Friday the atmosphere did not seem great for the film. So friday night, over pizza, Jonathan, Chris and Caleb walked through the script and storyboards and set a very tight schedule to shoot all content of the script on Saturday from 8-4 (the only hours that there is good light), and added up to almost 40 setups, including a car crash, cop cars blocking streets, gun shots, blood, a bullet shattering a window - not to mention the large amount a rain that poured all day. It was big undertaking, but after a slow start waiting for the light that did not seem to want to come in the morning, and including a lunch break - all 40 setups were shot, and shot well in 7 hours.
There are so many thank you , but it has to be said that all the extras, photographers, crew, friends, actors (with great attitudes) and technical advisors had a lot patience with the production and weather, and excitement about the film. It could have been a distaster with the weather and technical coordination of certain elemenst, but everyone had a great attitude and it went on very smoothly. So thank you all. It was a blast. And it should be fun to watch.
